Taking to Twitter, hip-hop artist Sajeel Kapoor aka Sez On The Beat issued a statement where he revealed that he has not been paid for this track from 'Gully Boy'. For those who are unaware, the original track was produced by Sajeel which came out in 2015.

He started out his statement saying that he is feeling weird writing this out and that he has nothing to do with the new version of 'Mere Gully Mein'. He added that he wasn't even aware that the song was going to be used in the film until recently.

Sajeel went on to say that he really wants the film to do well as it represents so many underground artists and the hard work that they have put over the years. He agreed that the film will ensure a bigger platform for them in the coming year, but he had a major grievance with the situation.

The hip-hop producer claims that he has not been paid for this track in spite of having a contract which has been agreed upon. Sajeel lamented that this is the sad reality of how the entertainment industry works in this country. After such a bold statement, it remains to be seen if the makers of 'Gully Boy' respond to these allegations in any way.
