The lead actors, in most cases, deservingly walk away with the praise and all the upcoming offers when a movie succeeds. But there are times when the ‘supporting actors’ make a mark too. Vicky Kaushal’s rise from such a phase in ‘Raazi’ and ‘Sanju’ to become the lead actor of one of the most loved movies in recent times, 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' is one such example. And with all the praise coming the way of Siddhant Chaturvedi for ‘Gully Boy’, do we see him following suit?
It goes without saying that ‘Gully Boy’ is a story about Ranveer Singh, and also Alia Bhatt’s characters. But Siddhant turned out to be a surprise package and even Karan Johar wrote one line for him that said it all in his Instagram post, "@siddhantchaturvedi makes a smashing debut as MC sher ! He is pitch perfect balancing arrogance and goodness with the ease of a veteran!"
The song ‘Apna Time Aayega’ has become an anthem for the youth and is among the biggest chartbusters in recent times. Siddhant on Wednesday took to social media to share a meaningful line from the song, “Kisi ka haath nahi tha sar par, Yahan par aaya khud ki मेहनत se main!” (There was no hand above me, I reached this place with my hard work).
While we relate to Ranveer’s character when he says the lines in the movie, we can’t help but notice how aptly it describes Siddhant’s own journey in real life.
It is a known fact that achieving something without a godfather in the film industry is a mammoth task. Siddhant, starting off from ‘Life Sahi Hai’ to ‘Inside Edge’ and now ‘Gully Boy’, has surely earned the right to say the lines with pride.
