Preity Zinta was excited like the whole country about Team India making history to beat Australia in a Test series for the first time in Australia. However, the actress goofed up while conveying her wishes to the team and Twiteratti were quick to correct her.
The ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ star actress took to Twitter on Monday to congratulate Team India albeit with two errors. She lauded the ‘boys in blue’ for being the first Asian team to ‘win a test match’ in Australia.
To correct her, the 'boys in blue' or 'Men in Blue' term is used when India plays limited-overs cricket as that’s the colour of their kit, not when they play tests. Moreover, India is the first Asian team to win a test series Down Under and not a test match as she tweeted. From using asterisks to calling ‘half knowledge very dangerous,’ the netizens were quick to point her mistake, after which Preity deleted the tweet.
While this was a minor error, the actress recently was criticised for her views on the #MeToo movement. In an interview, Preity was seen smiling while answering the question about it and also said she wished it had happened to her, referring to the sexual harassment incidents narrated by the actresses.
