In the wake of India’s very own ‘Me Too’ movement, Bollywood filmmaker Hansal Mehta spoke out in support of a woman who recently accused Vikas Bahl of sexual harassment.

As per a report in Huffpost India, a former female employee of the now dissolved production company called ‘Phantom Films’, has leveled allegations of sexual harassment against one of the founders of the banner - Vikas Bahl.

The award-winning director lashed out at Vikas Bahl in a post on Twitter. The Tweet reportedly read,

“Will anybody do anything about this bloody creep or will the industry protect him like it always does? Wish I could do more than just speak out. As a father of two girls, I fear them having to deal with such predators just because nobody took any action against Bahl — on the contrary a major star has acted in his new film. Who is empowered here? The victim or the creep?”

Hansal Mehta’s tweet seemed like a dig at Hrithik Roshan, as the megastar will next be seen in the Vikas Bahl directorial titled, ‘Super 30’. As a result, Hrithik Roshan’s fans reportedly began trolling the ‘Simran’ director, following which, an enraged Hansal Mehta tweeted,

“I’m done with Twitter. A platform that has ambiguous guidelines about hatred, negativity and abuse is no platform … or debate or discussion — forget social change. Goodbye”.

The filmmaker is now off Twitter.

Appreciating Hansal Mehta’s stance on this pressing issue, writer and producer, Nikhil Taneja tweeted, “Thank you for speaking out, @mehtahansal. You are first filmmaker to do so. Hope others show their humanity today too and SPEAK OUT.”

According to media reports, the former employee was unconscious when ‘Queen’ director, Vikas Bahl harassed her. Adding to the list, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who has worked with Vikas Bahl in 'Queen' agreed to the claims made by the woman and said she too was harassed by Bahl.
