Sharing a selfie where they are twinning in black, the filmmaker conveyed a heartfelt note to his ‘brother’, opening up on their ‘deep bond’ of 40 years since childhood. The ‘Bombay Velvet’ actor wrote how the ‘birthday boy’ will not just be ‘special’ to his mother Hiroo Johar, but also to his children Yash and Roohi who will grow up to know that they have a ‘solid uncle with a golden heart.’ KJo concluded his post by expressing his love for the actor and conveying wishes for the ‘best birthday’ and year.

Karan directed Abhishek in ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ and two years later, they collaborated in the capacity of an actor-producer in ‘Dostana’ in 2008. However, they have not worked together for 11 years. Seeing this message, we feel it’s high time they reunite, maybe on ‘Dostana 2.’

Meanwhile, the director is working with AB Jr’s father Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Brahmastra’. Big B was also a part of ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ and was one of the leads in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...’. Abhishek’s mother Jaya Bachchan is also close to Karan, having worked in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...’ and ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, while his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was among the leads of his last directorial ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.’

Despite no collaboration in films for 11 years, Abhishek has been a frequent visitor on 'Koffee with Karan' and the fun-filled episode, joking with each other and even sharing important matters, this season with sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda, just proved their strong bond.
