Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is celebrating three years of her iconic film 'Bajirao Mastani' on Tuesday, December 18. The actress, who played the role of  Peshwa Bajirao's beloved Mastani in the film, took to Instagram and shared a still of herself from the song 'Deewani Mastani'. The actress looked phenomenal in the music video as she grooved the heart-touching melody of the song. She captioned the post saying, "celebrating her grace,strength & courage... #3YearsOfMastani"

She also shared a motion poster on her Instagram story that read '3 years of Bajirao Mastani' to mark the day. 

The epic romantic drama was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starred Deepika's now-husband Ranveer Singh as Peshwa Bajirao, opposite her. It also starred Priyanka Chopra as Kashi Bai, Bajirao's first wife. The film narrates the wind whirling romance between Peshwa Bajirao,  a heroic general of the Maratha Empire, and a warrior princess Mastani.  Bajirao who was previously married to his childhood friend Kashi Bai had to face a lot of opposition from his conservative family for marrying the love of his life Mastani.

The film was jointly produced by Bhansali and Eros International's Kishore Lulla. Besides the lead actors, the film also stars Tanvi Azmi, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi and Milind Soman.  'Bajirao Mastani' is a recipient of several accolades including seven National Film Awards, including Best Direction and Best Supporting Actress for Azmi. The film received a leading fourteen nominations at the 61st Filmfare Awards and won nine awards, including Best Film, Best Director for Bhansali, Best Actor for Singh, and Best Supporting Actress for Chopra.

Meanwhile, on the personal front, Deepika Padukone tied the knot with her 'Bajirao Mastani ' co-star Ranveer Singh after 6 years of courtship. After tying the knot in Lake Como, Italy on November 14 and 15, the pair held a grand reception bash for their friends from the Bollywood fraternity and the event was attended by several A-listers from the industry including Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar, Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, among others. The much-in-love had a blast at the bash as they set the dance floor on fire.
