Here's Shah Rukh Khan's big takeaway from the reception of 'Zero', details inside

Shah Rukh Khan's latest release 'Zero' was one of the most anticipated films this year. However, the hype failed to translate at the ticket window. But, SRK is undeterred by how the film has been received so far and revealed his takeaway from it.

Shah Rukh Khan's latest release 'Zero' was one of the most anticipated films this year. However, the hype failed to translate at the ticket window after the film received mixed reviews on opening day. As a result, the subsequent box office collections have also taken a hit and the fate of the film remains to be seen. However, SRK is undeterred by how the film has been received so far and revealed his takeaway from it.

Speaking about his latest film 'Zero', he said that in light of this movie, he hopes more abnormal and experimental cinema is encouraged in the future. He confessed that he doesn't want to do normal, commercial films anymore which doesn't really push him as an artist. King Khan also disclosed how his friends and family keep asking him to do safer films but still he doesn't listen to them. Well, if nothing else, one must appreciate how brave SRK has been with his career choices in spite of being a bona fide superstar. 

The 'Zero' actor also talked about his next project, which he revealed to be the Rakesh Sharma biopic. However, he also disclosed that it is not set in stone yet. The film is tentatively titled as 'Saare Jahan Se Accha' and will chronicle the life of Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian to ever go to space. The movie initially supposed to star Aamir Khan but the actor passed it onto SRK as he was too busy with 'Mahabharat'. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar as the female lead.

Meanwhile, ‘Zero’ had an unimpressive opening weekend, according to a trade report. After collecting Rs 20.14 crore on an opening day, the film continued to not see any big jump in the passing days and was eventually surpassed by Yash's 'KGF' which was a Hindi dubbed film and the clear underdog before the release. Directed by Aanand L Rai, 'Zero' also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in pivotal roles with a cameo from Salman Khan and many other B-town celebs.
