  • Kareena Kapoor and Ranveer Singh will be sharing screen space for the first time in 'Takht'
  • The film is directed by Karan Johar and reunites him and Kareena after 17 years

Kareena Kapoor will be working in a Karan Johar directorial after 17 years. The last time the two got together, they gave viewers the very sassy ‘Poo’ (Kareena Kapoor’ character in 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum'). This time they are getting together for the period drama film ‘Takht’. Karan Johar who is known for doing multi-starrer films has got some of the leading actors of today under one roof for his next film. Apart from Kareena Kapoor, the film stars Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.

This is the first time Kareena Kapoor will be collaborating with Ranveer Singh. Earlier, the two were signed for Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ along with Ranbir Kapoor. Reportedly, Kareena Kapoor had backed out of the film after Ranbir Kapoor walked out, following which Ranveer Singh was roped in. However, this time the two power-packed performers will surely be sharing screen-space.

In an interview with a news agency, the 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' actress said that she feels great to be able to share screen space with Ranveer Singh after so many years and said that it was a long due collaboration. Praising the ‘Padmaavat’ star, Kapoor said that he is a phenomenal actor and it is an honour for her to share screen space with him.

Meanwhile, the poster release of ‘Takht’ had once again revived the debate over nepotism.  Netizens were seen blaming Karan Johar for promoting nepotism in the industry through his big budget films. However, this time around Karan Johar had befitting replies to those trolling him.

Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, recently wrapped up the shooting for Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy' alongside Alia Bhatt and will also be seen playing a cop in Rohit Shetty's 'Simmba' which will release in December.
