Actress Swara Bhasker, who is known to make headlines for her controversial tweets, is back with the second season of VOOT’s 'Its Not That Simple'. The actress who garnered rave responses for the role of matured Meera in the first season will reprise her role in the second season.

The actress took to Twitter to promote the second season to the successful web series and wrote, "Meanwhile #Gameface promotions for my next #ItsNotThatSimpleSeason02 #Voot"

During a media interaction, the actress shared that the second season of 'It’s Not That Simple' will begin with her character Meera, who is an independent woman as she has been separated from her husband. Meera, a single mother, has begun to embrace the fact that being a single mother can be 'cool'. The actress further revealed that the web series has a very special place in her heart.

SWARA BHASKER ON GENDER INEQUALITY

Talking about gender equality, which has been a trending topic of discussion for quite some time now, Swara said that people are more judgemental when it comes to women than men. Right from childhood, women are judged based on their looks, colour of their skin, and mannerisms. The famous line ‘Log Kya Kahenge’ (what people will say) is often used for women. But this line shouldn't affect anyone as one should not bother how people will react or what they will say and one should always do what they feel is right.

In recent times, many Bollywood celebrities like Saif Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Manisha Koirala among others have been a part of web series.

When Swara was asked about the difference in Bollywood movies and web series, she said that in the case of web series, there is no box office collection, no TRP pressure and of course no censor board restrictions thereby providing a good platform for freedom of speech and expression.

The actress stated there is a freedom to explore stories and characters and unlike Bollywood and it is a unique platform to push your boundaries.

Meanwhile, Swara Bhasker was last seen in 'Veere Di Wedding' which featured Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, and Shikha Talsania and was the eye of the storm due to her masturbation scene in the movie for which she was trolled and criticised by some.
