Shah Rukh Khan has a battle on his hand. The actor, who is currently in the news for the positive response and millions of hits for ‘Zero’ trailer, won’t have a solo release for his comedy-drama. SRK had recently requested his close friend Riteish Deshmukh to shift the release of his Marathi movie ‘Mauli’ following which the latter advanced it from 21 December to 14th. ‘Zero’ enjoying a ‘solo release’ started doing the rounds later, but that is not the case, unfortunately for SRK fans.

Kannada movie ‘KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) Chapter 1’ will also be releasing on 21 December. When asked about the clash at the trailer launch, Yash was quoted as saying, "I strongly believe that there is enough space for two films to survive, not one film can acquire the whole country. Yes, 'Zero' is a big anticipated film, but we are releasing the film in five languages. So we had to have a date that is suitable for all the languages. We had to think about all the distributors. December 21 seems to be the date suitable for all, so we decided to release on that day. I know we will have a big competition in Hindi, but I think it is okay. The movie is good, so it will have its own strength."
The trailer of the action-packed period drama starring 'Rocking Star' Yash, released on Friday, 9 November, had instantly gone viral and to the top of the Twitter trends. No doubt, ‘Zero’ will be the first choice for movie-goes across the country, but the Aanand L Rai directorial could find it tough to find screens in the South, particularly in Karnataka. The makers also would not want to underestimate the action movie, considering the pan-India success of another South movie ‘Baahubali’, which did better business than even Bollywood films.
Shah Rukh will be seen in a movie after a gap of more than one-and-a-half years and a lot is riding on 'Zero' for the actor after the debacle of his last movie, ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal.’ SRK would surely not take it lightly and will try his best to ensure maximum screens for his much-anticipated movie. Hollywood and South films have affected collections of Bollywood movies in the past, and it’d be interesting to see what would be the fate of the two movies when it hits the screens next month.
Incidentally, 'KGF Chapter 1' is being presented by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment. SRK is good friends with Farhan, his director of superhit 'Don' films. Will the superstar approach the actor-filmmaker like he did with Riteish Deshmukh? Let's wait and watch.
