'Hichki' Crosses Rs 100 Crores At The China Box Office

Rani Mukerji’s heart-warming and inspiring film 'Hichki' has become a worldwide success. The film was recently released in China and crossed Rs 100 Crores at the box office.

Rani Mukerji’s heart-warming and inspiring film 'Hichki' has become a worldwide success. Given the universal appeal of the film, the Rani Mukerji starrer has been witnessing a staggered release across the world and has been garnering a positive response from the audiences. Recent reports suggest that the film has made a total of USD USD 12 million (INR 102.5 crore), within just a week of its release. Looking at the numbers, one can say that China is definitely loving the film and Rani Mukerji's acting. 

The film released on October 12, 2018, and was titled as 'Teacher with Hiccup'.  The news was confirmed by Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh who took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter and said "#Hichki to release in China on 12 Oct 2018... Here's the poster for the local audiences in China." Produced by Yash Raj Film and helmed by Siddharth Malhotra, the story is a social drama based on equality that has won many hearts all across the country.

Reportedly, commenting about the release of the film in China, the actress stated that she hopes that the film will resonate with the audience there especially teachers students and parents. Rani Mukerji is playing the role of a school teacher named Naina Mathur who is dealing with an involuntary nervous system disorder called Tourette Syndrome in the film. 

In terms of the film's international release, 'Hichki' has released in Russia and Kazakhstan so far. The Rani Mukerji starrer which is helmed by Siddharth P Malhotra and backed by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films.

Rani Mukerji’s performance as Naina Mathur, a school teacher dealing with an involuntary nervous system disorder known as the Tourette Syndrome, has been widely appreciated by the audiences and critics alike all around the globe. With her brilliant performance in the film,  Rani Mukerji has managed to sweep awards and accolades in India. 'Hichki' has also been receiving worldwide acclaim and honours. It received a standing ovation at the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), 2018 and then at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2018 where Rani was awarded the Best Actress award, yet again.
