Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kausal shared screen space in Meghna Gulzar's 'Raazi' where Alia was featured as an Indian spy who is married to a Pakistani Army officer, played by Vicky. The patriotic zeal of the film somewhere resonates with Vicky's recent venture.

'Uri: The Surgical Strike' pays tribute to the Indian army and to a new India. It is based on the September 2016 attack by Pakistani terrorists on the Indian Army brigade HQ in Uri, J&K and subsequent Surgical Strike by Indian security forces on terror launchpads in Pakistan. It features Vicky as an Indian soldier who leads the army for the mission. It is written and directed by debutant Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala under his banner RSVP Movies.
