Abhishek Bachchan is all set to make his big comeback on the silver screen with the Anurag Kashyap directorial 'Manmarziyan'. However, this is not the first time that the actor and filmmaker have worked together on a film. The duo has earlier worked on Mani Ratnam's 'Yuva' back in 2005.

In an interview to a web portal, Abhishek Bachchan revealed Anurag didn't like his work in 'Yuva'.  And holding no grudges against each other, Abhishek considered it fair as they had spent a lot of time doing readings for the film and somewhere, Kashyap felt a little disappointed when he watched the movie. But the duo never spoke about it and now they have put all that behind.

Anurag Kashyap was credited for writing dialogues of 'Yuva' that comprised an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Rani Mukerji, Vivek Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor, Esha Deol, Sonu Sood and late actor Om Puri. The film saw Abhishek Bachchan as one of the antagonists of the film.

13 years later Anurag Kashyap and Abhishek Bachchan have once again joined hands for 'Manmarziyaan', a modern story about complicated love stories. The film's tagline suggests, 'Love Is Not Complicated, People Are. 'Manmarziyaan' also stars Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal in the lead role and is all set to release on September 7. 'Manmarziyaan' which will see Abhishek donning a turban for the first time has primarily been shot in Punjab. Reports even suggested that Abhishek Bachchan turned down JP Dutta's war drama 'Paltan', choosing 'Manmarziyaan' over the former. Abhishek Bachchan who made his debut with JP Dutta's 'Refugee' (2000), backed out of 'Paltan' at the last moment.

Abhishek will also star in Anurag Kashyap's next titled ‘Gulab Jamun’ alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. According to reports, the couple will play never seen before characters in ‘Gulab Jamun’. While talking about the film, Abhishek said, "Gulab Jamun is a script that both Aishwarya and I agreed to do. We are looking forward to it. But we are still figuring out when to do it.” The couple last shared screen space in Mani Ratnam's film 'Raavan' (2010).

Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan was last seen in 'Housefull 3' (2016). The film was the third instalment of 'Housefull' franchise and starred Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon, Nargis Fakhri, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff and Chunkey Pandey in key roles.
