Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has always been quite bold and vocal about her thoughts. The actress is all set to bring Rani Laxmibai's story on the big screen with 'Manikarnika' and is currently in Hyderabad. While promoting her upcoming film at an event, she revealed that she was just 16 years old when she filed her first FIR for sexual harassment.
Speaking to PTI, she said 'People who need support, who need to be empowered, we must empower but if our society can produce a woman like Rani Laxmi Bai, then why not, they must not be discouraged. If they are strong women, we should not discourage women.'
On the work front, the actress is all set to star in 'Manikarnika', that stars Ankita Lokhande and Jisshu Sengupta apart from Kangana Ranaut. The film was initially slated to release by the end of 2018. However, the film is now slated to release on January 25, 2019, and will clash with Hrithik Roshan's 'Super 30' at the box office.
Produced by Zee Studios and Kamal Jain, 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi', is slated to release on January 25, 2019. The trailer of the film was released and has already received a stupendous response from the viewers.
Apart from 'Manikarnika', Kangana will also be seen in 'Mental Hai Kya?' opposite Rajkummar Rao. The actress has also signed Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's 'Panga'.
