‘I Weighed 96kg’: Sara Ali Khan Opens Up On Her Intense Flab To Fit Journey

While star kids often have to face the nepotism attack from netizens, who feel they have it easy, the truth is that they too have their own struggles. For Sara Ali Khan, her weight was the major hurdle between her dream to become an actress. The youngster cut all the flab to go from 96 kilos to what she is today, and it involved some intense training that included boxing, cycling, functional training, Pilates and most importantly, a healthier diet.

In a recent interview with a fashion magazine, Sara was asked about her journey to fitness. The actress, who was studying in New York then, revealed she took it upon herself to lose weight when she had a year to go before her graduation. The actress said that the journey started from ‘pizza to salad’ and from ‘lethargy to cardio’; simply put, she started working out and eating healthy.  

The ‘Kedarnath’ star revealed that there were various kinds of training that were available in the city like functional training and boxing. But due to her weight then, she had to start with practices like walking, cycling and hitting the treadmill before she could enter the intermediate forms of exercise. 

Not just losing weight, even maintaining it is a hard task. And now, Sara reveals her workout involves a combination of functional training, Pilates, boxing and cardio. The actress’ gym pictures are a constant in the paparazzi diary of the day, because she is extremely regular and exercises for an hour and a half. However, she shared that she takes a break on Sunday and terms it as a ‘day to chill.’ 

Sara added that Vinyasa yoga or a Pilates class is what she prefers after a physically hard week. And post a stressful and emotionally taxing week, she banks on a 45-minute boxing session to get the energy back.

The ‘Simmba’ star reserves special praise for Pilates and credits the exercise for her strong core. Sharing the reason for the same, Sara stated that the exercise strengthens body balance and helps her gain strength while boosting her stamina and helping her look good.

While Sara achieved success in her fitness journey and is considered among the most stylish actresses today, on the professional front too, she has followed a similar path. Her first two films ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Simmba’ have been successful, while she has Imtiaz Ali’s next and ‘Coolie No 1’  remake in the bag too.,
