A prayer meet in memory of Nana Chudasama, who passed away recently, was held in Mumbai on Wednesday. Celebrities from the film fraternity and entrepreneurs were spotted arriving for the event.

Late Nana Chudasama was a well-known jurist, social activist and a former Sheriff of Mumbai, a title given to prominent names of the city. His daughter Shaina NC is a Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson. The celebrities were seen conveying their condolences to Shaina and her mother. Some were also seen expressing their thoughts in a note. 

Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, along with her mother Brinda Rai, Juhi Chawla, Raveena Tandon, Shabana Azmi, Waheeda Rehman, Madhoo Shah, Jackie Shroff, Suniel and Mana Shetty, Minissha Lamba, Urmila Matondkar, Prachi Shah were the attendees. Singer Pankaj Udhas with family, Mukesh and Anil Ambani, along with Tina Ambani, Kumar Birla were also seen arriving at the venue.

Nana Chudasama was a Padma Shri awardee and passed away on Sunday after a brief illness, according to his family member. 

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was among those who mourned his demise and visited the family to convey condolences. 

Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasgar Rao had also given a tribute by saying, "The contribution of Nana Chudasama to Mumbai's socio-economic and cultural life was of a high order. He was among the foremost champions of a clean and green Mumbai." 

He continued, "Through his initiative I Love Mumbai, he organized plant shows and promoted tree plantation. Through his popular banners on the Marine Drive, he commented upon the paradoxes of public life and polity in a humorous way.

"As the founder of service organisation Giants International, he rendered social service in many areas. In his demise, the city of Mumbai has lost a conscience keeper of Mumbai," said the Governor.
