Sushmita Sen who is currently enjoying her life with her children and her rumoured boyfriend Rohman Shawl, now has one more reason to be happy. The actress has finally won an age-old matter regarding a compensation she received from an MNC.
The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal has ruled in favour of the actress and said that the compensation she received from Coca-Cola is not taxable. Sushmita had received a compensation of Rs 1.45 Crore from the company back in 2003-2004 when she had filed a lawsuit for sexual harassment. Apparently, an employee from the organisation had behaved inappropriately with the former Miss Universe. The ITAT ruled that the compensation she received does not come under the income bracket but is instead a capital receipt.
What's more, the fine of Rs 35 lakh that was levied on her initially for failing to declare the money in her income has also been cancelled. When the actress received the compensation, she had paid Rs 50 lakh as income tax and had kept the rest Rs 95 lakh as compensation, which she maintained throughout the proceedings. With the decision in her favour, the actress can breathe a sigh of relief as the hurdle has finally been crossed. This comes just in time as the diva also celebrated her 43rd birthday recently.
To mark the occasion, her rumoured beau Rohman Shawl had shared a really heartwarming picture of the two together on his Instagram, as he called her his "Jaan".
Meanwhile, the actress has quashed any reports of her getting married anytime soon but the same time, she has all but confirmed that she is dating the model.
