‘Period. End of Sentence.’ is produced by Guneet Monga, who is known for producing films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘The Lunchbox’, among others.  The movie, directed by Iranian-American filmmaker Rayka Zehtabchi, traces lives of women in the village of Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, who for long didn’t have access to sanitary pads.

The documentary highlights the revolution against the stigma associated with menstruation which caused health issues and led to girls dropping out of school in the village. When high-school girls-led The Pad Project installs the sanitary pad-vending machine in the village, the women learn to manufacture and market the pads. Their brand of sanitary pads, which they name FLY, tastes success as women from around 40 villages begin to use their products.

Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Priyanka Chopra and many other celebrities took to Twitter to congratulate Monga and others associated with the venture. 'Well deserved win', 'special moment', 'India's pride', 'incredible', 'hurrah for women' and a 'huge moment' were some of the ways they described the proud moment.
