The actor who is currently undergoing cancer treatment in London has reportedly given a nod to the sequel of his 2017 film, 'Hindi Medium'. However, the recent buzz is that there are chances that the actor might return to Mumbai after Diwali and will soon start shooting for the sequel of 'Hindi Medium'. 

Speaking on the rumours of the actor being back to the sets, a clarification statement was given by Mr Khan’s spokesperson which said 'The story floating about Irrfan starting Hindi Medium 2 shoot in December are all based on speculations. However, there is a possibility of him returning to India after Diwali'

Irrfan Khan has turned out to be an inspiration for many owing to his battle against cancer. The actor has been constantly keeping in touch with his fans through social media and has also given interviews while in the hospital. The 'Blackmail' actor has been sending positive vibes and himself maintaining a positive outlook towards life.

Hindi Medium showed the reality of popular schools and the mad race that follows to get admission into number one schools. Irrfan plays the owner of a garment store in the film and his wife insists that they get their daughter placed in the best school in the city. They adapt to illegal methods but only to realise their mistake towards the end. The film helmed by Saket Chaudhary received immense praise for its unique plot.

Reportedly, the sequel will take a leap of 10 years and will explore Irrfan Khan's character based on the previous installment. The female lead in the first installment was played by Saba Qamar. 

Meanwhile, Irrfan Khan's latest release 'Karwaan' which was the debut film of south Indian actor Dulquer Salmaan and internet sensation Mithila Palkar received a mixed response from the audience and critics. However, Irrfan Khan's performance received critical acclaim.
