Rumours surrounding the casting of the fourth instalment of the ‘Dhoom’ franchise have been doing the rounds for a long time.  It had been reported that Salman Khan will be essaying the role of the villain in the franchise, which was earlier played by John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan in the previous instalments.

It was reported that the producer of the franchise, Aditya Chopra and Salman Khan had been talking about the film for a year now. Speculations were rife that post the release of ‘Race 3’, Khan had even signed the film, locking the deal. However, later there were reports of the ‘Dabangg’ actor walking out of the film.

According to media reports, the makers of the film could not comply with his demands. Allegedly, Salman Khan refused to share screen space with Abhishek Bachchan, because of his strained relationship with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

However, the makers could not do without Abhishek Bachchan as his character ACP Jai Dixit is an integral part of the franchise right from its inception. There were other reports that said that it was because of Salman Khan’s alleged strained relationship with Ranveer Singh, as the latter has been reportedly offered an important part in the film.

However, putting a rest to all the rumours, the actor in an interview with a publication said that he has decided to not play a villain ever because he feels that people can get impressed by his action. He said that, over the years, he has observed this pattern of the youth blindly imitating their favourite onscreen heroes. He also said that he does not want his fans to follow him and indulge in any wrong-doings.

Aditya Chopra has scheduled to release the fourth instalment of the 'Dhoom' series in 2020. Reportedly, Vijay Krishna Acharya, who is busy shooting 'Thugs of Hindostan', will be directing the movie.
