Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor who is all set to star in period drama 'Panipat' is prepping hard for the same. The actor who is often pointed out for gaining weight recently opened up about his long struggle with obesity.

Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor who is all set to star in period drama 'Panipat' is prepping hard for the same. The actor who is often pointed out for gaining weight recently opened up about his long struggle with obesity.

In a recent Instagram post, the actor shared pictures from his training sessions and revealed that he has been battling obesity since childhood. The actor who seems to be on the winning side of the prolonged fight said that he believes, 'efforts will pay off eventually if not today then in a week month or even a year'. 

Talking about his rigorous gym sessions, the 'Half Girlfriend' actor revealed that he started training for his upcoming film 'Panipat' this January and slow and steady he has managed to lay a foundation of his fitness. The actor further revealed that it took him 3 years to lose 50kgs when he was 20.

In the post, Arjun wrote, "It’s been a tough journey for me ever since I was a kid when it comes to my battle with obesity. Everyone has their own struggles I have had and continue to have mine. But the whole point of life is that we fall, we get back up and try again... efforts will pay off eventually if not today then in a week month or even a year... I started training with @shivohamofficial this January and slow and steady we have managed to At least lay a foundation during our prep for Panipat. I vowed never to give up in the 3 years it took me to lose 50kgs when I was 20 years old & I sure as hell won’t be giving up and letting go now... keeping the belief is key, u gotta keep at it and one day you will reap the benefits... we all gotta keep the faith and keep at it cause what we do today will echo in time and reflect within us eventually..."

As soon as the post surfaced, many Bollywood celebrities came forward to hail the actor. They extended support to the actor and praised him for his persistence.

However, joining the bandwagon was his friends, actors  Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan who dropped interesting comments on the post. While Varun quirkily commented on the post saying, "Arjunkapoor 2.0 i want ip rights πŸ€™πŸΌ", 'Baba' Ranveer hilariously said, "ARRE ARRE ARRE BAUS !!!!!! πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯"

Meanwhile, Ashutosh Gowariker's magnum opus 'Panipat' has been stealing the limelight ever since its conception. Apart from its historical subject, the film also has a stellar star cast constituting of Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Sanjay Dutt. The latest addition to it is veteran actor Zeenat Aman.

As per media reports, Arjun Kapoor will be playing the role of Sadashiv Rao Bhau, who was Peshwa Bajirao's nephew and had served as the Maratha Army's commander-in-chief at the third battle of Panipat.

The film is based on the third Battle of Panipat fought between the Maratha empire lead by Sadashiv Rao Bhau and invading forces of Ahmad Shah Abdali, the King of Afghanistan.
