Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra are back with 'Jabariya Jodi' after they amazed everyone with their crackling chemistry in 'Hasee Toh Phasee.'
The film touches upon the issue of groom kidnapping of a gun-point wedding, locally known as 'jabaria shaadi' in Bihar and UP whereas Parineeti feels the film is a quirky take on the existing problem in Bihar.
Talking about the upcoming venture exclusively with Republic Media Network, Parineeti said, "It's a cool and entertaining take on a serious issue. I am playing Babli Yadav a character who is a western-influenced girl living in Patna."
This movie marks the reunion of Parineeti and Sidharth after a hiatus of five years was quite special for the two.
"I was initially nervous in woking with Sidharth after five years. I was hoping for the chemistry to be the same between us. At the time of 'Hasee Toh Phasee.' we were very new in the industry so we shared a very pure bond and now a lot has happened in the past five years in our lives but I was glad that we had the same bond as we had five years ago. We really had a blast on the sets," the 'Kesari' actress said.
As the film revolves around the lives of people in Bihar both the actors have worked hard to do justice with the local language.
"The entire team has worked hard to get the Bihari accent. the language we are speaking in the film is a mix of Maithili and Bhojpuri. We did a workshop on the language for almost two months with Director" Parineeti revealed.
Apart from 'Jabariya Jodi' Parineeti will be seen playing ace Badminton Shutler Saina Nehwal in her biopic. While the pictures of the actress prepping for the role are going viral Parineeti gave us the latest update about the upcoming project.
"I still have 3-4 months to prepare for the role, I want to do justice with the character of Saina but first I will shoot for 'The Girl On The Train' in London where my team will accompany me and will help me to transform into an athlete," the Bollywood diva stated.
Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra will also Captain Vikram Batra in his biopic 'Sher Shah'.
Talking about the same, he said, "We have started the shoot of 'Sher Shah' and for the next schedule, the war sequences will be recreated in Kargil. Kiara Advani will play the love interest. I have been involved in this project for quite some time and I am glad that the movie is finally into making."
'Jabariya Jodi' was earlier slated to release on August 2. However, its release date was pushed to August 9, in order to avoid box office clash with Sonakshi Sinha-led 'Khandaani Shafakhana'.
