Bollywood actress who was launched by Karan Johar in ‘Dhadak’ seems to be taking over the Dharma girl tag. The actress was recently roped in for Karan Johar’s next directorial venture which is to be produced under the banner of Dharma Productions. Now, as per reports in a Mumbai tabloid, the actress has been roped for her third Dharma film in which she is reportedly playing the role of the Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena, one of India’s first female combat aviators, who was posted in Kargil during the 1999 war.
As per the report, Janhvi Kapoor has already begun to prepare for the role as she has met Gunjan Saxena in order to understand her and her story. The film which will be produced by Karan Johar will hit the floors in 2019. The makers are yet to finalise on the director for the film.
Janhvi Kapoor made her debut in Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Dhadak’ opposite Ishaan Khatter. The film was the Hindi remake of the popular Marathi film ‘Sairat’. The film garnered mix response from the audience. However, irrespective of the reaction to the film, Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi sure made her mark. Recently the young actress bagged her first major advertisement contract. She has been signed by a popular cosmetic brand.
Janhvi Kapoor was the only other actress apart from Aishwarya Rai to be honoured at the WIFT (Women In Film and Television ). She was felicitated with the Emerald Award at the function that was held in Washington DC on September 8.
Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor will next be seen in Karan Johar's 'Takht' which is a multi starrer period drama film set during the Mughal era. The film also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.
