Jaya Bachchan Reveals That She Always Knew Shweta Bachchan Would Grow Up To Be A Writer

Bollywood's Bachchan family never moves out of the limelight, however, veteran actress Jaya Bachchan who is the wife of the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and the mother of Shweta Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan prefers to stay away from the spotlight. The actress was recently spotted at the book launch of daughter Shweta in Mumbai. In a video clip from the event, Jaya can be heard talking about how she always knew that Shweta would grow up to be a writer.

Describing it as a 'mother's instinct' Jaya says, "I knew she would do this. Since she was a child I knew she would someday write, mother's instinct."

Both Amitabh and Jaya are known to be proud parents to their children. Shweta Bachchan Nanda who is the older child of the couple, recently launched a novel 'Paradise Towers', a week ago, on October 6. The event was hosted by Karan Johar who described the novel as 'observant, moving, hilarious and exceptionally astute'. During the launch, Karan Johar asked Jaya if she would like to say something about the book to which the 'Silsila' actress said that she thinks that her daughter Shweta is very inspired by Karan Johar's screenplay writing, as he describes the characters in his film with minute details.  

"I think she is very inspired by your screenplay writing. Because the way you detailed your characters that's what she has done in this book," she said.

However, unlike her family, Shweta was never into acting. Before marking her debut as an author, she had stepped in the business and marketing industry and launched her own clothing brand 'MXS'. In one of the recent events, Amitabh Bachchan lauded his daughter with great words saying that she is the best actor in their family. In fact, the 'Baghban' actor, shared Tthe cover of Shweta's book on his official Instagram handle and wrote, "That moment when your daughter hands you her first authored book, it’s like when you first held her when she was born .. .. the birth of a creative talent .. and my prayers and blessings 🙏🌹🌹🤗🤗"
