  • Film Critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter on Saturday, January 12, and announced that the film is all set to hit the big screen on April 12, 2019.

Bollywood actor John Abraham is all set to return to the big screen with his spy-thriller film 'Romeo Akbar Walter', and now the makers have finally announced a release date for the upcoming venture. Film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter on Saturday, January 12, and announced that the film is all set to hit the big screen on April 12, 2019. Besides John, the film also stars Mouni Roy, Jackie Shroff, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi and Sikandar Kher  in the lead. It is directed by Robbie Grewal and is produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, KYTA Productions and VA Film Company.

Revealing the finalization of the release date, Taran Adarsh on the micro-blogging site said, "Release date finalised... #RomeoAkbarWalter #RAW to release on 12 April 2019... Stars John Abraham, Mouni Roy, Jackie Shroff, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi and Sikandar Kher... Directed by Robbie Grewal... Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, KYTA Productions and VA Film Company."

John announced the start of the making of the film back in June 2018. The film which was scheduled to release much earlier was delayed after facing several issues. John on June 15 shared a picture with the clapboard and wrote, "And the journey begins!!! #RAW #RomeoAkbarWalter"

As per media reports, the action thriller portrays John as a spy and is based on true events that happened in India during the 1970s. John, who now appears to be more into films will a patriotic zeal, will collaborate with producer Ajay Kapoor for the second time for the project after 'Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran'. 

Meanwhile, the 'Force' actor will also be seen in Nikkhil Advani's 'Batla House' which is inspired by the September 2008 Batla House encounter case. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and is set to release on August 15, 2019.
