Chawla started her Bollywood acting career in 1986 with the film Sultanat. However, her appearance in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak gained her huge recognition in the industry. Apart from Hindi films, Chawla has also appeared in Bengali, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films. On the occasion of the Yes Boss star’s birthday, here are a few comedy roles played by Juhi Chawla.

Deewana Mastana

Deewana Mastana is a 1997 romantic-comedy film directed by David Dhawan. The film was bankrolled by Ketan Desai. The movie also features Juhi Chawla, Anil Kapoor and Govinda in pivotal roles. Juhi Chawla played the comic role of Dr. Neha Sharma in the movie. The plot of the movie is based on the chaos when a small-time crook and a patient with mental issues tries to win the heart of a beautiful woman with comical outcomes.

Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke

Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke is a 1993 comedy family-drama movie directed by Mahesh Bhatt. The movie is produced by Tahir Hussain and features Juhi Chawla and Aamir Khan in significant roles. Juhi Chawla played the role of Vaijanti Iyer in the movie who runs away from her family because she doesn’t want to get married to the orthodox South-Indian person her family chose her and lands in the house of Rahul Malhotra played by Aamir Khan.

Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman

Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman is a 1992 romantic-comedy film directed by Aziz Mirza. The film was produced by G.P Sippy. The film features Juhi Chawla, Shah Rukh Khan and Nana Patekar in primary roles. Juhi Chawla plays the role of Renu in the movie. The story of the film is based on the life of a young man romancing a beautiful woman while dreaming of becoming a successful engineer.

Jhankaar Beats

Jhankaar Beats is a 2003 comedy film helmed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film was jointly produced by Pritish Nandy and Rangita Pritish Nandy. The movie features Juhi Chawla, Sanjay Puri and Rahul Bose in primary roles. Juhi Chawla played the role of Shanti in the movie. The plot of the movie is based on the life of two copywriter brothers and their apprentice competes in a musical contest.

Ishq

The movie is based on two wealthy businessmen Harbans Rai and Ranjit Rai who loathe poor people. However, fate makes Harbans Rai daughter Madhu (played by Juhi Chawla) fall in love with a poor mechanic Raju and Ranjit Rai’s son falls in love with a poor girl Kajal. When both the businessmen come to know of it they try various ways to separate the lovers.
