Right from the start where Shahid calls his friend to ask about a girl to the very end scene where he gulps down a bottle of alcohol β€” his intense and high emotions will hit the right chord in your heart.

The love story between Kabir and Preeti (played by Kiara) is honest and raw. Shahid Kapoor's transformation from a hardcore alcoholic with anger issues and suddenly to a soft heart in love is magical. The actor's aggression and attitude will leave you wanting for more.

"Kabir Singh is a relatable film because for the one's who haven't felt that anger and pain would know the what it leads to but the one's who have been there, it would be therapeutic. We hope and pray that the way people loved Arjun Reddy, people will love #KabirSingh too. I would rate #KabirSingh very high in terms of difficulty. Kabir Singh is not bollywoodised, we have kept the core emotion same, ofcourse the region has changed. It's not a dark film, but a character driven film. It's very important for people to understand Kabir Singh and the headspace of the character," said Shahid Kapoor at the trailer launch.Β

Trade Analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh too gave his opinion and said -

The movie is a Hindi remake of Telugu hit film 'Arjun Reddyy'. The original blockbuster starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles. The story is based on Arjun Reddy, a successful young medical surgeon, who sets out on the path of self-destruction when his lady love is forced to marry another man.

The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga (who also helmed the original) and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde of Cine1 Studios.
