Kajol And Ajay Devgn To Reunite On Screen After 9 Years For 'Taanaji - The Unsung Warrior' ?

Ajay Devgn's upcoming film 'Taanaji - The Unsung Warrior' is one of the most discussed projects, as of now, the makers haven't revealed much about the film, but rumors are rife that Kajol and Ajay Devgn will come together on screen after 9 years for this film. If reports are to be believed Kajol will play the female lead opposite Ajay in the movie and she will essay the role of Taanaji’s wife.

Although essentially it’s a war film, it also focuses on the relationship between the Maratha warrior and his wife. Apparently, the reason for casting Kajol is because her command over Marathi is perfect and the role suits her. The film is at the beginning stage where just the scripting and the pre-production work has commenced, and Ajay Devgn is leaving no stone unturned for his dream project.

Reportedly, the makers have locked some locations outside Mumbai and have even started building the sets. The film has been locked in for a release on 25 September 2019 and it is produced by the 'Singham' star himself at a budget of Rs 150 crore. It relies on heavy VFX work and the story revolves around the life of Tanaji Malusare, a Koli military leader in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army. The 'Drishyam' star had shared the first poster of this 2019 film. 

The director of the film Om Raut is expected to portray Tanaji's heroic fight in the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670 AD. The film is anticipated Ajay Devgn's most expensive and ambitious project. Ajay Devgn is completely involved with every little detail regarding the film.

The rest of the star cast is yet to be revealed and as per reports, the casting process is still going on. The couple, who tied the knot in 1999 has worked on a couple of projects, but with 'Taanaji - The Unsung Warrior' the duo will make a comeback onscreen.
