  • Kajol shared that no one was keen to see the two actors getting hitched due to their contrasting personalities, except their families.
  • Kajol and Ajay Devgn's kids, Nysa and Yug, have no qualms in admitting they enjoy dad's movies more.

Separations and divorces are never shocking when it comes to Bollywood. However, one couple that has gone strong for close to two decades is Ajay Devgn and Kajol. From marriage to kids, the actress opened up on her family life during a recent appearance on Neha Dhupia's podcast 'No Filter Neha.' Sharing a secret, Kajol revealed that no one was keen to see the two actors getting hitched due to their contrasting personalities. She said her family was 'iffy' about her marriage too and shared why her father didn't talk to her for a week when she informed of marriage plans.

“Nobody wanted us to get married besides his family and my family. My family also was iffy. My dad didn't talk to me for a week when I told him I wanted to get married. It was because I wanted to get married. He was just like why do you want to get married, you’re so young and your career is doing so well and I was like but I want to get married. Ajay and I were very different people, so lots of people had reservations as to what we would be like as a couple and we were not very social even then. Not a lot of people had met us together or knew what we were like together,” Kajol stated.

On the reason for the couple's marriage standing strong even today, the 'Helicopter Eela' actress said, “We have survived because both of us have worked through it together and we have two kids. It’s almost like we have become like one person who has these two children like their arms,”

Much like the different kinds of people they are, the couple is also known for their varied films. And kids, Nysa and Yug, have no qualms in admitting they enjoy dad's movies more. “Both my children don’t like my movies. They don’t watch my movies. According to them, I cry too much in my films and I don’t do happy films so hence and therefore I should do more films like 'Golmaal',” Kajol added.

Nysa is already tracked by the paparazzi, and her appearance with Kajol at the unveiling of the latter's Madame Tussaud statue had made headlines. The teenager tells her mom about fashion and also has an advice for her while watching movies. “According to her (Nysa), there are very few things I look good in. Her taste is very classic so anything that is a little quirky or the things that I like – is a little quirky or a little loud. She is like why can’t you watch this film quietly or why can’t you enjoy this film quietly, why do you have to cry, scream, clap or laugh.” We saw Kajol's 'Helicopter Eela' avatar recently and we wonder if Nysa believes her mother is like what we saw in the film.
