26 million views in one day! That was the beginning of ‘Kalank’ on social media, the highest for any Hindi film, according to the makers of the movie. The statistic reiterates the fact that the collboration of such a massive cast has given the movie a massive boost. The makers are not letting the buzz go down, with just a month to go for the release, and hence are teasing brand new posters of the movie featuring each of the star.
The stills in the new posters are similar to the visuals in the teaser, Varun Dhawan battling the bull, Aditya Roy Kapur carrying the sword in the riots, Alia Bhatt’s royal look in search of someone, Madhuri Dixit’s graceful yet pained look, Sanjay Dutt's intense gaze and Sonakshi Sinha’s tensed expression.
However, the stunning use of colours and backgrounds in each of them leaves us intrigued to know what their characters are exactly all about. The different captions used by Karan Johar and the handles of the productions houses, Dharma Productions, Nadiadwala Grandson and Fox Star Studios while revealing some traits, further add to the mystery of the characters.
Like Varun aka Zafar is described as ‘The one who takes challenges head-on!’, ‘The flamboyant daredevil’, ‘Fierce, Powerful and Strong Persona’ and ‘Only the fearless can take down the fierce.’
Aditya’s Dev is termed as ‘The face of nobility’, ‘He will fight for what’s right!’, ‘Nobility lies in him’, ‘A man who is a blend of standard, principles & honesty.’
Alia’s character Roop is called ‘हुस्न-ए-रूप’ and lines like ‘Courage has never looked this beautiful!’, ‘Rooted in traditions, yet a heart that yearns for a world beyond her own’ and ‘Love fiercely, live fearlessly’ are used to justify her.
Sonakshi’s Satya is rightly defined as ‘In a sea of chaos, she steadies the ship’, ‘She holds a world of emotions in her eyes’ and 'The eyes that calm the chaos.’
Madhuri’s Bahaar Begum ‘moves like the wind, and her voice flows like a river’, is ‘enchanting, mysterious, and longs for acceptance’, according to the handles, which also describe her with “Get ready to mesmerize yourself with her beauty.”
Sanjay Dutt’s Balraj is, “A man of few words that hold immense power”, “Iron-fisted patriarch” and “Authoritarian is his subsequent name!♟”
‘Kalank’ is a story set in 1945 and the movie has been helmed by ‘2 States’ director Abhishek Varman. The movie hits the theatres on April 17.
