Kangana Ranaut And Rajkummar Rao Starrer 'Mental Hai Kya' Gets A New Release Date

The upcoming Bollywood dark comedy 'Mental Hai Kya' has got a new release date. The release of the film which was initially scheduled on February 22, 2019, is pushed back by a month and now it is staled to release on March 29, 2019.

The upcoming film stars Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao, Amyra Dastur, Jimmy Shergill, Mahaakshay Chakraborty and Vikrant Massey in the lead roles. Although markers have not opened up much about the plot of the upcoming venture, it has grabbed several eyeballs for the uncanny and whacky first looks of the lead pair- Kangana and Rajkummar.

The film which is currently under making is directed by filmmaker Prakash Kovelamudi and scripted by Kanika Dhillon. It will be jointly produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shailesh R Singh under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures and Karma media and entertainment. 

As the makers suggest, the film celebrates the imperfections and the crazy within individuals and shouts out ‘Sanity is overrated’. The upcoming thriller film marks the second collaboration between Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut, as the pair previously shared the screen for Vikas Bahl's 'Queen'. 

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajkumar Rao recorded massive success in one of his latest venture 'Stree' opposite Shraddha Kapoor. He will be next seen in Namrata Singh Gujral's upcoming venture '5 Weddings' which also stars Nargis Fakhri, Bo Derek, Candy Clark and Anneliese van der Pol.

The film which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival on May 10, is all set for a theatrical release on October 26, this year. Moreover, he also has several other films in his kitty including - 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga', 'Made in China' and 'Shimla Mirchi' among others. While the official announced of the making of 'Shimla Mirchi' is still due, the other two films are staled to release in 2019.

On the other hand, Kangana Ranaut is currently busy filming her upcoming venture 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' that is a biographical film based on the life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. It is being directed by National Award winning director Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and produced by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain & Nishant Pitti. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on January 25, 2019.
