Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut donated a sum of Rs 1 lakh to Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao's NGO Paani foundation under its Jalmitra campaign.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut donated a sum of Rs 1 lakh to Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao's NGO Paani foundation under its Jalmitra campaign. The actor's sister Rangoli Chandel took to Twitter to confirm the news, and also shared respective receipts of the transactions on Twitter. 

“Kangana donated 1 lakh and I donated 1 thousand to jalmitra.org  please donate whatever you can to help our farmers, it’s not charity, we have been unfair to them for way too long. India got independence but still cruel British laws and policies weren’t changed to favour our farmers, we eat because of them, on this earth day let’s show our gratitude to “Dhartiputras “ our dear farmers,”, she wrote in her tweet.

On the work front, the actress will next be seen in 'Mental Hai Kya' alongside Rajkummar Rao. According to the makers, the film celebrates the imperfections and the crazy within individuals and shouts out ‘Sanity is overrated’. The upcoming thriller film marks the second collaboration between Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut, as the pair previously shared the screen for Vikas Bahl's 'Queen'.

The actress' latest stint 'Manikarnika' was praised widely by the audience and critics. The film is a period drama based on the life and struggles of Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi and her war against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
