In her first and exclusive interview with Republic Media Network, 'Judgementall Hai Kya' actress opens up about the ugly spat that has turned into a 'Kangana Ranaut Vs Media' war. Speaking about the relationship between media and a celebrity, Kangana Ranaut said: "Relationship between media and celebrity is anyway quite tricky."

Throwing more light on the 'tricky' relationships, Kangana said: "Kuch log hote hain jo kisi tarah ke sameeksha aur alochna le nai paate but you must have seen in my interviews, the changes and improvement I have made on myself in terms of personality and language — and criticism has played a big role in it. And when you are a celebrity, aapka kuch cheezo ko lekar daayitv kaafi badh jaata hai. When media crosses the line between sameeksha and apmaan, then one has to take a stand. I am not saying or I don't believe that media as a profession is bad, I am saying the people who are fraud and those who are utilising this profession and power to demean others, I condemn those. Even during Manikarnika days, I had said that I will expose everyone."

"More than an actor, I am an Indian. Bharatiya pehle hoon. This was bothering me from the beginning — what is media's role should be discussed as a society," she added.

A controversy that began as an argument has turned into - Kangana Vs Media

Explaining that it was a candid environment where the argument began and she just said "Kya yaar, tum to mere baare mein kharab likh rahe ho, dushman ban gaye ho hamare', Kangana explains that the journalist was triggered and his entire hatred came out. "Ek bhadaas aur nafrat nikli hai iske baad, ek agenda nikal kar aaya, raato raat guild ban gayi. Calls were made to everyone to ban me. It is good that this has come out. Earlier too celebrities have had tiffs with reporters but such a step was never taken. Just because one day Kangana Ranaut decided to speak against one journalist, a guild was formed overnight," she said.

On being further asked why was she being a target, Kangana clarified: "Before 2014, I was irrelevant in this industry. It was only after Tanu Weds Manu's success that I was honoured as India's top actress and media supported me a lot during that time. And to achieve that position, media has played an important role. Ismein koi dorahe nai hai."

"But... when my personal struggles came out in public, a big Bollywood star like Hrithik Roshan.. jo unhone meri beizzati ki, unke khilaaf I fought a legal battle. His entire system, his family or his father, his friends, people like Karan Johar's ego was hurt when I said something in fun on his show... They made an entire group against me. And I thought with time it will go away but some are just after me. A few were running a smear campaign against me. The film cast of Manikarnika told me that they have recieved calls from biggies for running a campaign against me. A platform approached us saying we have received 15 lakhs but if you give us 25 lakhs, we will speak about your enemies. So, when I saw all this, I openly challenged that I will expose you all. This hypocrisy needed to come out in open."

"If you look at the accounts of these people on social media, you will see that they are 'chatukars' of the movie mafia and only has one agenda that is to demean me. Why is it that I am not able to find a journalist who is not a sell-off by these people and holds a balanced opinion. One doesn't need a genius to crack this!", she added

Sending notice to the Entertainment Journalists Guild of India & Press Club of India

Kangana Ranaut a few days back had sent a legal notice to the Entertainment Journalists Guild of India, that called for a ban on the actress, and the Press Club of India, that supported it, amid her ongoing row with journalists, following a spat with a reporter at a recent event.

On this issue she said: "I won't leave them! Look at their behaviour — Press Club of India — is a club where people meet, they have no legal authority to release a ban on anyone. Or a guild that was made overnight.. unhone ne bhi 'jhoota dilaasa' diya sabko that we will fight and protect all the journalists and told everyone not to cover Kangana. Why are they not involved in other causes, why only against me? These two forums have taken law and order in a very wrong way. Only Press Council of India (where Supreme Court judges sit) has the legal authority. And they will have to fight a case there. They are claiming that Kangana Ranaut has abused and insulted a journalist. It was a recorded event. They don't have a proper case because these liars have no evidence. So, I have filed a case on them. They will have to answer now."
