The ongoing controversy over Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut bashing a journalist during the song launch of her latest venture 'Judgementall Hai Kya' and the Entertainment Journalists Guild boycotting her thereafter has been making the headlines lately. Amidst, the same, the actress recently opened up about the row during an exclusive interview with Republic Media Network.
Speaking about her relationship with media and Bollywood, Kangana said she has a problem with 'videshi soch wale desi log'. She said, "I have a problem with 'videshi soch wale desi log'. Their mentality doesn't belong here. Not just in Media, these kind of people are in Bollywood as well. They talk about anti-nationalism. If you talk about India's culture and unity in front of them, they will come to attack you."
"They are the people who despite being Indian believe in a foreign culture. These kinds of people are found in the media as well. They have a problem with the country since birth. They don't like its soil, colour, brown skin, our language, or our culture. I don't know why." she added.
"I don't take them light-heartedly. I want to know how can they hate their own country and countrymen, somebody of their same colour, sharing the same mother-tongue? I want to know the reason behind this sycophancy? People should talk about this." she stated further.
Kangana Ranaut who is all set to star in the upcoming thriller drama 'Judgementall Hai Kya' alongside Rajkummar Rao, got involved in an ugly spat with a journalist and allegedly accused him of running a ‘smear campaign’ against her, an allegation that was denied by him, during the film's song launch event.
A few days back she had sent a legal notice to the Entertainment Journalists Guild of India, that called for a ban on Kangana, and the Press Club of India, that supported it. The actress also recently released a video firing back at the Guild and the journalist associated with it for banning her.
Clearing her stance on the same, she said, "I am not against the media, In my video, I have clarified that I acknowledge the media's contribution to the prosperity of our country. I am not saying media at large is wrong."
