Akshay Kumar had cleared the air through a Twitter post after he was summoned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the 2015 firing incidents at Behbal Kalan over sacrilege incidents. The actor was connected with the Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and a report claimed that the '2.0' star hosted a meeting at his house along with former Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal. After Akshay's lengthy clarification, several icons of Punjabi descent have now come in support of the actor.

Famous comedian Kapil Sharma, rapper Badshah and singer Guru Randhawa took to Twitter to issue statements in favour of Akshay. Kapil said that he trusts his statements and that he should just ignore the rumours as he wrote, ''Paji we believe u, we trust u n we can’t ignore ur contribution for cinema n ur continuous efforts to make our country better. Pls ignore these rumors. God bless u. love n regards always''. Badshah called the actor the 'flagbearer of the pride of Punjabis', while Randhawa said that the entire country loves him. It is truly heartening to see the star receive support from such influential Punjabi sensations. 

 

 

Meanwhile, Akshay has plenty to look forward to as he signed a three-film deal with Fox Star Studios for 2019. In the near future, his film '2.0' is up for release.
