  • Karan Johar once again hits back at trolls who blamed him for nepotism
  • The filmmaker's next directorial is going to be a multi-starrer period drama film 'Takht'

The word nepotism and filmmaker Karan Johar came to be associated together after Kangana Ranaut termed him as the flag bearer of nepotism in the show 'Koffee With Karan'. Since then every nepotism debate would be incomplete without the mention of  Karan Johar's name.

The 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' director in 2017 IIFA Awards had chanted 'nepotism rocks' on the stage along with Saif Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan, taking a dig at Kangana Ranaut. This did not go down well with many and the trio had to later apologize. However, in the IIFA 2018, he once again revived the nepotism debate by performing a parody song on the topic.

Recently, the filmmaker announced his next directorial venture and the cast of the film. His upcoming film 'Takht' is a period drama and the cast line-up includes Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. Netizens immediately blamed and trolled Karan Johar for promoting nepotism, film after film.

This is not the first time the filmmaker is getting trolled. But this time, he has hit back at trolls and shut their mouth. A Twitter user tweeted that Karan Johar can win the gold medal for launching star kids. In response to this comment, he replied: And you will get the bronze medal for bullshit.

A week ago when Karan had first announced about 'Takht', he had replied to a few trolls with a strong response.

Karan Johar had recently launched Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khatter in 'Dhadak', which released in July. He will also be launching Chunky Pandey's daughter Ananya Pandey in 'Student of the Year 2'. Recently, there was a buzz doing the rounds that the sequel of the 2008 movie 'Dostana' will have Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead. However, Johar tweeted about the rumour saying that it is completely baseless.
