Karan Johar's 'Kalank' to hit theatres sooner than expected and you have to know the reason

'Kalank' is one of the most-anticipated films of 2019, that is said to be a period drama set in the 1940s. The film is backed by Karan Johar and his home banner Dharma Productions. The makers had earlier announced that the film will be hitting the box office on April 19, 2019, but now as confirmed by trade analyst and critic, Taran Adarsh, the film will release on 17th April 2019. 

Buzz is that the step has been taken in order to capitalize on holidays that are coming up, which is Mahavir Jayanti and Good Friday, besides Saturday and Sunday. Targeting an extended weekend, with two partial holidays, and going by past records, it is going to be a rather good time for the film to release. 

Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and said, 'IT'S FINAL... #Kalank to release on 17 April 2019 [was slated for release on 19 April 2019 initially]... Will be a 5-day *extended* opening weekend... Teaser will be out on 12 March 2019.'

Meanwhile, the film is also targeting a nine-day window considering that 'Avengers: Endgame' is releasing on April 26, 2019. And, the finale of the superhero franchise is something for sure that the audience would not miss!

The multi- starrer venture 'Kalank' which marks the directorial debut of Abhishek Verman features Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Kunal Khemu, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. The period drama will be set in the 1940s and will be jointly produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Fox Star Studios. It is all set to hit the theatres on April 19, 2019.
