Karan Johar and Amitabh Bachchan’s bond goes back a long way. Before the former’s ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ had brought instant recognition to his banner Dharma Productions, it was actually films like ‘Dostana’ and ‘Agneepath' starring Big B that brought the spotlight on the company KJo’s father Yash Johar was heading then. Later, the filmmaker directed the Senior Bachchan in two multi-starrers, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...' And ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.' The pair is collaborating after more than 12 years again in the trilogy ‘Brahmastra’ directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
Naturally, the filmmaker considers Amitabh Bachchan extremely close, so the former found it odd when a studio he was partnering with suggested they send an 80-page contract to the superstar. Karan replied to them saying it wasn’t how it worked considering his equation with Big B.
He added that the 76-year-old actor was like his family member and a father figure to him, so he couldn’t explain terms on the number of hours he needs to work or the days he needs to keep aside for promotions in a contract. KJo revealed that his ‘contract’ was actually just a letter which read, "Thank you so much for coming on board. Lots of love, Karan".
'Brahmastra', which is an action-fantasy drama, is one of the most anticipated films of next year and is gearing up for release around Christmas.
