Among them, actress Karisma Kapoor took her fans on a nostalgia trip and posted a throwback picture with Shah Rukh Khan from their film 'Dil To Paagal Hai'. Calling it an 'iconic friendship in Indian cinema', Karisma's picture with SRK (Nisha and Naina as they were populary known) went viral with over 85,000 likes.

Directed by Yash Chopra, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, a grand musical romantic film, released in 1997, has been a cult film in the 90's. Take a look at the picture -

Meanwhile, Fitness freak, Tiger Shroff had a completely different take for marking the day. The actor flaunted his Popeye-like biceps, with his wrist fully wrapped with colourful friendship bands in a boomerang video that he posted on Instagram. "Pumped for #friendshipday," he captioned the post.

Vivek Anand Oberoi shared a small clip on his Twitter handle that conveys the beautiful message. "Such an adorable video, makes us realise the true value and real meaning behind friendship and that friendship knows no bounds. Happy #FriendshipDay everyone," he wrote.

Sonakshi Sinha shared a piece of wisdom. The 'Dabangg' actor posted a picture of herself on Instagram and wrote, "Each friend is important, however, a selfish person isn't a friend." She also wished her followers a happy Friendship Day.
