Katy greeted her fans saying, “What’s good L.A.?” at the beginning of the show. She further went on to pour her heart out about why she likes to perform at The Ace. She said, “The Ace is a great place to see people who maybe don’t want to go out to the arena. Like, you can smell me. You can see my tonsils. I still have my tonsils. This is intimate. And even during soundcheck, I forgot how much I love it. I love being close to the people. I love seeing your irises. All of this is to say, two songs have re-inspired me to remember my teenage dream.” Katy Perry divulged in some philosophical thoughts mid-way through her concert as she announced, “I don’t want to be president. I just want to be a nice person”.

Katy Perry opened the show with her hit song ‘Hey Hey Hey’ as her green hair shone luminously in the glow of the backlights. The singer shouted, “Who cares what everybody else thinks?”, mid-way through the song. The crowd too added to the glitz and glamour of the concert with many showing up in flamboyant costumes. While some of the women were seen in emerald-green sequin dresses and colourful sequin blouses, few men showed up in glittery shirts.

Katy also treated the crowd with one of her most loved tracks ‘I Kissed A Girl’ as she reminisced about the days gone by. The singer said, “These hits they used to play on a thing called the radio. It was a different time. It was 2008. Now we’re just fluid.” Katy Perry also went on to list Alanis Morrissette, Garbage, Fiona Apple, No Doubt as some of her favourites from the ‘90s and said, “I was born in 1984. I’m 33 … and I really enjoyed partly some of the ’90s.”
