As the assembly elections in the state of Maharashtra is underway, several Bollywood celebrates including Javed Akhtar, Rishi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and others came out to cast their votes. Joining the bandwagon was actor Arjun Kapoor who was recently seen arriving at a Mumbai polling station to cast his vote. While coming out of the station, Arjun Kapoor also posed for the shutterbugs flaunting his inked finger.

Arjun Kapoor urges Mumbaikars to cast their vote

Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor also put out an inked selfie on Instagram and urged his followers to exercise their democratic rights. In the post, he highlighted the importance of every single vote and paired his funky selfie with a 'cool' caption which read: "Don’t be a fool, be cool & get your finger marked...Each vote counts..."

Polling is currently underway in Maharashtra, with a voter turnout at 30.7% till 2 PM. Various senior leaders like CM Devendra Fadnavis, Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar, Piyush Goyal and Smriti Irani were seen voting. Bollywood too came out in big numbers to exercise their democratic rights. Many A-listers of Bollywood including the Khans, Deepika Padukone, and more were spotted voting at their respective poll booths.

In Maharashtra, the BJP-Shiv Sena Alliance are pitted against the Congress-NCP alliance. In the saffron alliance, BJP will be contesting on 164 seats, and Shiv Sena will fight on 126 seats in Maharashtra. Alliance partners of BJP have fielded 14 candidates under the party's lotus symbol. On the other hand, the Congress and the NCP are contesting on an equal number of seats, that is 125 each in the 288-member Assembly and its allies on the remaining 38 seats.
