It has been over a year since pictures of Mahira Khan and Ranbir Kapoor smoking over a conversation in New York surfaced on the internet but the Pakistani actor seems to be still getting trolled for it.
On Tuesday, Mahira took to Twitter to wish Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez, who announced his retirement from test cricket. “Mubarak on a great inning and thank You!! I’m so glad I got to watch you play live. Love to you and the family,” she tweeted.

Although in the pictures, both of them were just spotted smoking, the Pakistani actress had to face a lot of backlash on social media, with several people speculated that the two might be in a relationship. The conjecture went so overboard, that both the actors had to issue statements to clarify their stance and request people not to spew hate.
Mahira got brutally trolled for smoking and wearing a short dress by her fans, especially from Pakistan. The two were even rumoured to be in a relationship. While Ranbir Kapoor is now reportedly dating his 'Brahmastra' co-star Alia Bhatt, Mahira seems to be busy with her acting assignments enjoying her single status.
Mahira made her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in 'Raees' in the year 2017. However, the Pakistani actress was not allowed to promote her film in India in wake of the Uri attacks in September 2016 that claimed the lives of 19 soldiers after which Raj Thackeray lead Maharashtra Navnirman Sena gave an ultimatum to Pakistani artistes to leave India. Expressing her disappointment, Mahira had reportedly said that she felt sad, angry, hurt and disappointed
