Ranveer Singh who will be next seen in 'Gully Boy', has already begun prep for his next film, which is the sports drama '83'. He will be playing the role of former Indian cricket captain and legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev as the film will document India's journey to clinch its first ever World Cup in 1983. Now, the makers of the Kabir Khan directorial have unveiled a major update about the film with an exciting teaser.
Taking to Twitter, the official handle of the film shared a small clip that revealed that 83' will release on April 10th, 2020. Other than making this incredible and out of the blue announcement, the makers also shared the news that the cast of the film will also be announced soon.
Not long after, they came out with their first ever casting announcement other than Ranveer Singh. It was revealed that Punjabi actor Ammy Virk will be playing the role of Balwinder Singh Sandhu, one of most pivotal players in India's 1983 world cup win. A medium pacer, he was one of the Indian bowlers who had great swing and was also quite handy with the bat.
The rest of the cast is yet to be announced but the excitement is slowly mounting for the film. In the meantime, filmmaker Kabir Khan had revealed that the shooting will kick start in May and will go on well into August. He had also disclosed that the shooting will predominantly take place in London and that for the prep, all the ex-cricketers from the famous 83' squad can be expected to chip in for some advice on getting the technical aspects of the game just right.
