Reportedly, the character of Jhalkari Bai was a prominent one. A woman soldier in Rani Laxmibai’s army, Jhalkari Bai eventually rose to the position of an advisor to the Queen. She was a Dalit hero and is still being worshipped by them. There are many statues in her honour but yet she is one true unsung hero.

Reports suggest that to give her 100% to the character, Ankita trained in horse-riding and sword fighting for 30-35 days, under the guidance of Hollywood action director, Nick Powell. While the audience is ready to witness the epic drama, Ankita Lokhande’s action will definitely add up to the excitement.

Kangana Ranaut's 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' had a twisty start after being hit by controversies just like Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmaavat'. It has been accused of distorting the facts of history and what added fuel to the fire was Sonu Sood's exit debacle. The actor who was reportedly all set to star in the movie with Ranaut reportedly decided to leave it midway.

Moreover, Kangana took up the responsibility of essaying the titular role of 'Manikarnika' and that of directing the film, since Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi (also known as Krish), the director of the project had some prior commitments.

The film is slated to release on 25th Jan 2019 and is one of the most anticipated films of the year.
