Bollywood loves Manish Malhotra. The fashion designer is one of the go-to persons for stars for sartorial needs, and there’s no doubt they are just a call away when he wants to launch his latest collection. His ramp shows featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, had all made headlines earlier this year. One where his close friend Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kartik Aaryan showcased his designs in Dubai was also a part of the news. However, the ace-designer was recently slammed for choosing B-town stars to walk his ramp show
In a group discussion held at Lakme Fashion Week, two designers spoke about how during a ramp show, the audience should concentrate on just the 'designs', and shouldn't be distracted anything else. Watch the video below-
From the comment section, one can tell that netizens too agreed with the statement. While one user wrote, Huge respect to these designers for being so forthright in their response... dragging Bollywood everywhere is not necessary.. Fashion and Film industry are 2 different things, so let them be", another one questioned saying, Who are these designers i myself have seen them for the 1st tym and look whom they are talking about MANISH MALHOTRA the man.
Having worked on the costumes for films like "Rangeela", "Mohabbatein", "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" and "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" in his over-two-decade journey in Hindi filmdom, ace fashion designer and couturier Manish Malhotra says Bollywood has a powerful international impact. In his stint in the Hindi film industry, Malhotra has styled the who's who of Bollywood, including names like Tabu, Rekha, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sridevi, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Priyanka Chopra, among many others.
Currently, the designer was last seen showcasing his collection, inspired by his latest couture range Zween, at the first Fashion Weekend International (FWI) in Doha.
"Various aspects from the Middle Eastern culture -- be it the centuries-old architecture, black and white cinema to the native flora and fauna -- have been key inspirations for this collection," he said, adding that he would be showcasing over 60 ensembles.
