The Sanjay Dutt biopic ‘Sanju’ has been riding on box office success ever since its release on June 29. The film broke all box office records of the year on the first day itself. It got the tag of the highest opener of 2018, beating films like 'Race 3' and 'Baaghi 2'.

The film reached the Rs 200 crore in the first week of release. As the movie is rapidly progressing toward the Rs 300 crore mark, Manisha Koirala who played Nargis Dutt in the movie has reacted to the success of the film. She appreciated the entire cast and crew for putting their best foot forward.

“It's overwhelming to see that Sanju has got the kind of appreciation and love it deserves. It's a team effort and everyone has done their job - be it Ranbir, Paresh, Vicky, Dia, Sonam, Anushka or Jim. The story has been conveyed beautifully by Rajkumar Hirani. It was difficult for me to play Nargis Dutt's character but Rajuji made it easy for me. It was an honour to play Nargis Dutt Ji,” she said.

The film has been widely appreciated by the audience and is still running house full in various cities.

The film traces the journey of actor Sanjay Dutt from age 20 onwards. It shows his drug addiction phase, his relationship with his father and best friend, his alleged involvement in the 1993 blast and his jail term. Ranbir Kapoor plays Sanjay Dutt and he has aced the 'Vastav' actors style, mannerism and even his voice to an extent. Meanwhile, the multi-starrer is said to be Ranbir Kapoor's big comeback after a number of flops. As the film inches closer to the Rs. 300 crore club, it will be Ranbir's first film to enter this club!

Manisha Koirala played Ranbir Kapoor's mother Nargis Dutt in the film. She was convincing as Nargis Dutt and the film beautifully showed the emotional bond between the two.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film has managed to strike an emotional chord with the audience. Manisha Koirala has been away from the silver screen for quite some time, and the actress made her Bollywood comeback with an amazing performance in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer.
