With most movies being praised by celebrities when it hits the theatres nowadays, it’s sometimes difficult to believe if a film is good or not. Nevertheless, when some of the most acclaimed directors of the country, rave about a movie, it's hard to doubt them. That’s the case with ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’, which has perhaps got lost in its clash with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Kesari’. However, Shekhar Kapur and Anurag Kashyap have gone gaga over it, while Hansal Mehta was frustrated at not finding the movie on a booking platform.
‘Shahid’ helmer Hansal Mehta took a dig at the ‘multiplex bullies’ when he couldn’t find the movie on a ticket-booking platform a day before release.
‘Mr India’ director Shekhar Kapur tweeted about the experience of watching ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’ at the Macao Film Festival and the movie receiving a rapturous response from the audience. The veteran then slammed multiplexes for 'killing themselves’ with the high ticket prices and how digital medium thus became the go-to-option for new filmmakers.
The movie made it to the platform later on, and Hansal it seems watched the movie and reminisced about his time with director Vasan Bala and the movie's producer Ronnie Screwvala. He also praised the new talents on the movie.
Meanwhile, Anurag wrote, “Other than being fun and entertaining,”Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota” is easily the best action film made in India in last ten years .. World class on every level..”
‘Shaitan’ and ‘Wazir’ director Bejoy Nambiar was among the other names who raved about the movie.
The movie is the debut of ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ actress Bhagyashree’s son Abhimanyu Dassani and he is paired opposite ‘Pataakha’ star Radhika Madan.
