The makers of Kangana Ranaut-Rajkummar Rao starrer 'Mental Hai Kya' released a new teaser on Tuesday morning. To add on, producer of the film — Ekta Kapoor — specifically went on to write a disclaimer on her Twitter handle along with the 22-second teaser.

She wrote: "DISCLAIMER :D film in no way marginalises d mental health community & d title of our film doesn’t intend 2 disregard any1 sentiments. It is sensitive towards d issue of mental illness. A fictional thriller dat encourages you 2 celebrate Ur uniqueness & embrace Ur individuality." [sic]

This 'disclaimer' comes after The Indian Psychiatric Society filed an official complaint to Prasoon Joshi, chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) demanding a change in the title, in April.

Mental health experts called the film 'atrocious and insensitive' towards people suffering from mental health issues. The committee also further wrote, "We take serious objections to the title of the movie which is discriminative, stigmatising, degrading, inhumane in projecting mental disorders and people who suffer from mental disorders."

"We strongly demand that the title be removed with immediate effect preventing further damage to the modesty of mental health service users. We also demand to censor any sequence in the movie that is violating the rights of persons with mental disorder,” the letter read.

Meanwhile, 'Mental Hai Kya' is directed by Prakash Kovelamudi. The movie also features Rajkummar Rao. After "Queen", this is Kangana and Rajkummar's second film together.

Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures, recently decided to push the release date from June 21 to July 26 "after the recommendations from distributors, trade analysts and their research team".

"We have been advised to shift the release of our movie to July 26, purely for the business prospects. On knowing, that there is already a movie scheduled for a release on that date, we did it all in our purview to ensure that there will be no mud slinging and it will be dignified release. We stand by assuring that to all other parties," the statement from the production banner read.
