Similarly to how an ‘i’ was removed and an ‘a’ added in ‘Padmavati’ to make the title ‘Padmaavat’, the Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer has also put the word ‘Judge’ and an ‘l’ to convert the earlier title to ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’ after the makers were accused of insensitivity to mental illness. The makers shared that their decision was prompted by the need to be sensitive to the issue of mental health and to not offend anyone. The Central Board of Film Certification has cleared the film with a U/A certificate for release on July 26.

In their letter to the body's chief Prasoon Joshi, they had termed the title as “discriminative, stigmatising, degrading, inhumane in projecting mental disorders”.
