Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is all set to bring the story of underdogs who took India to Mars on the big screen with 'Mission Mangal', the film one of the most anticipated films of the year, and recently the 'Khiladi' actor took to social media to share the first poster of the film. Starring Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Panni, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menen, Sharman Joshi, and Akshay Kumar, the film revolves around India's first interplanetary mission.

Sharing the first look poster, Kumar wrote, "A story of underdogs who took India to Mars. #MissionMangal, the true story of India's #SpaceMission to Mars, coming on Aug 15, 2019!"

Just today, Akshay Kumar penned an elaborate post explaining how 'Mission Mangal' came into being. Stating that over the years, Hollywood films such as 'Star Trek', 'Star Wars' and 'Gravity' have inspired an entire generation of inventors, scientists, and explorers and he hopes that 'Mission Mangal' also inspires imagination and curiosity. 

The much-anticipated venture 'Mission Mangal' narrates the story of a group of scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) who contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission, which marked India's first interplanetary expedition.

On the work front, the actor will next be seen in 'Housefull 4', which is due to release on Diwali. Other than the comic caper, he also has 'Good News' where he is co-starring with Kareena Kapoor Khan.
